Will my driving record follow me if I move to a different state if I have violations?
I am moving across the country and I was wondering if my driving record would follow me to my new state. I have a few old violations from 5+ years ago. Would these violations follow me since they are so old?
Also, I got a speeding ticket 2 years ago but I took the defensive driving course so that the ticket wouldn’t go on my record. Will that information transfer to my new license?

Yes, most states have information sharing agreements, and at the least, the insurance companies know already.
Yes it does follow you where ever you go! I was living in Florida for a while and when i got pulled over even with my new license for there they new that I had an accident a few years ago in Ohio! But I am back in ohio now and happy!
some states have reciprocity, meaning they will share info. not all states do that.
if you have a ticket in a state that does have reciprocity, then they will find you and fine you. if the state doesn’t then you will likely be okay, except your insurance company will know.
